We take care to protect your privacy by guaranteeing the processing of your personal data in accordance with the applicable legal provisions on data protection. [1]

The controller of the processing
The person responsible for the collection and processing of your personal data will be the Sociedad Espacio Quiropráctico Lisboa, located in Rua Correia Teles 52, 1350-101 Lisbon, which provides squiropractic services and in this area decides which data collected, the means of processing and the purposes for which their data are used.

We inform you that a Privacy Officer has been appointed, who will be responsible, among other functions, for (i) monitoring compliance with applicable data processing rules, (ii) be a point of contact with stakeholders to clarify issues relating to the processing of their data by the Espaço Quiroprático Lisboa (iii) cooperate with the National Data Protection Commission (hereinafter “CNPD”), and (iv) provide information and advice to Chiropractor Lisbon on their privacy and data protection obligations.

What personal data are collected and processed?
“Personal data” means any information, of any nature and in any medium, relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. A person who can be identified directly or indirectly, for example by the name, identification number, location data, electronic identifier or other means by which that natural person can be identified, shall be considered to be identifiable, such as specific elements of their physical, physiological, genetic or economic identity.
We may collect your personal data during the provision of our services, through the use of our website, when contacting or requesting information about the Espacio Quiropráctico Lisboa or as a result of contacts you may have with one of our partners or clients.
The personal data processed by the Espaço Quiroprático Lisboa include:
- identification details, such as your name (including prefix or title), your company, your position and your relationship with a specific person;
- contact details such as postal address, e-mail address and telephone numbers;
- financial information, such as tax identification number or payment methods;
- technical information, such as information on your visits to our website or on materials and communications sent by the Chiropractic Espacio Lisboa by electronic means;
- data you provide to us for scheduling meetings or attending events, including accessibility restrictions;
- Background provided by you or gathered as part of the customer acceptance process, including financial, business management and marketing details;
- Personal data obtained by Espacio Quiropráctico Lisboa on its own behalf or generated by our clients in the field of the provision of our services, including special categories of data;

How do we obtain personal data?
- The collection of your data can be done as part of the procedure of contracting our services, extending to third parties in the course of the provision of chiropractic services
- Through our computer tools and applications, including our website and electronic communications sent to Espacio Quiropráctico de Lisboa
- When you provide the same, or interact directly with us, for example through contacts with our employees
- And through other media and sources, such as the use of media that make information available to the public to keep their data up to date
How do we use your personal data?
The Espacio Quiropráctico de Lisboa collects and processes your personal data in various ways, in particular through the use of our website and our services. We use your data:
- To render our services.
- To provide information on request;
- In the promotion of our services, through the sending of news and publications and/or newsletters;
- In the promotion of events and/or seminars organized or co-organized by our space;
- To guide and direct our relationship with you;
- To make available and improve our website, including by auditing and monitoring its use;
- For the purpose of recruiting.
Why do we use your personal data?
We use your personal data in a lawful, fair and transparent manner for the following reasons:
- by consent, in writing, orally or through the validation of an option, and in advance and if such consent is free, informed, specific and unequivocal;
- in dealings prior to the conclusion of the contract or the declaration of the will to negotiate, and in the performance of contractual obligations, in particular through the provision of chiropractic services;
- to meet regulatory and legal obligations;
- For legitimate business purposes. Please see “How personal data is used” for more details.
The communication of your personal data is entirely voluntary, however, it is a mandatory requirement for the provision of our services.
How long do we keep personal data?
The Espacio Quiropráctico Lisboa processes and retains your personal data in accordance with the purposes for which they are processed or when there is a legal and/or regulatory obligation, specific to their preservation.
For example, there are cases where the law requires the processing and storage of data for a minimum period of time, in particular for (i) 10 years the data necessary to report to the Tax Authority for accounting or tax purposes or business accounting data; (ii) 7 years to combat money laundering and terrorist financing; (iii) 30 days of image recording; or (iv) during the mandate statement, plus 20 years, for data processed in the framework of the provision of legal services.
Likewise, the Espacio Quiropráctico Lisboa will keep the data according to the statute of limitations for the filing of legal actions.
After the expiry of the maximum retention period, your personal data will be irreversibly anonymised (anonymous data may be stored) or securely destroyed.
With whom do we share your personal data?
We may share your personal data with third parties in accordance with applicable legal and contractual provisions, including:
- competent governmental and judicial authorities, such as courts or tax authorities;
- Our professional consultants and auditors;
- Providers with which the Lisbon Chiropractic Space contracts certain support services, such as text processing, translations, copies, revisions of documents;
- IT service providers;
- third parties involved in the course of the services we provide to clients and with their prior consent, such as lawyers, enforcement agents, local advisers and others;
- Entities involved in the organisation of events, seminars or co-hosting them.
When your data is transmitted to subcontractors, the Espaço Quiroprático Lisboa shall take the necessary contractual measures to ensure that subcontractors respect and protect your personal data, by employing only subcontractors who provide sufficient guarantees for the implementation of appropriate technical and organisational measures to this end.
Where necessary, or for the reasons set out in this policy, personal data may also be shared with regulatory authorities, courts and official bodies. Although unlikely, we may be required to disclose your data to comply with legal requirements. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before such a distribution, unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
If in the future we reorganize or transfer all or part of our company, we may need to transfer your personal data to new entities linked to the Espaço Quiroprático Lisboa or to third parties through which the services of the Espaço Quiroprático Lisboa will be provided.

How do we protect your personal data?
We use a variety of technical and organisational security measures to help protect your personal data against unauthorised destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure and access, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
To which countries do we transfer your personal data?
In order to provide our services, it may be necessary to transfer your personal data to locations outside Portugal.
The Espaço Quiroprático Lisboa may therefore have to transfer your personal data to a third country outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) and not be included in the list of countries which the European Commission has already considered to have adequate levels of personal data protection. In such cases, the Espaço Quiroprático de Lisboa shall ensure that data transfers are made in strict compliance with the applicable legal rules, in particular Chapter V of the GDPR.
Your rights in relation to your personal data
As holder of the data processed by the Espaço Quiroprático Lisboa, you can, at any time, within the legal limits, exercise the rights identified below by sending a written communication to the Lisbon Chiropractic Space for info@espacoquiropraticolisboa.com .
Right of Access – the right to obtain confirmation of what your personal data is being processed and information about them, such as what the purposes of the processing are, what are the retention periods, among others;
Right of rectification – right to request the rectification of your inaccurate personal data or to request the completion of incomplete personal data such as address, TIN, e-mail, telephone or other contacts;
Right to Erasure of data or “right to be forgotten” – right to obtain the erasure of your personal data, provided that there are no valid reasons for its retention, such as, for example, cases where the Espaço Quiroprático Lisboa has to keep the data in order to comply with a legal obligation or because legal proceedings are under way;
Right to portability – right to receive the data you have provided to us in a digital format for current use and automatic reading or to request the direct transmission of your data to another entity that becomes the new controller for the processing of your personal data, but in this case only if technically possible;
Right to withdraw consent- Right to withdraw consent at any time for the processing of personal data, for example in the case of data processing for marketing purposes, without compromising the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the prior consent given;
Right of objection – the right to object at any time to the processing of data, provided that there are no legitimate interests which prevail over their interests, rights and freedoms, such as the defence of a right in judicial proceedings;
Right of Limitation -right to request the limitation of the processing of your personal data, in the form of (i) suspension of processing or (ii) limitation of the scope of processing to certain categories of data or purposes of processing.
The above-mentioned communication shall contain his full name, a copy of the citizen’s card or other official identification document, or of the person representing him, in accordance with the applicable legal conditions, the address for the purpose of notification and the request in particular.
The exercise of the rights shall be free of charge, unless the application is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case a reasonable fee may be charged on the basis of costs.
Information should be provided in writing, but may be provided orally upon request. In this case, the Espaço Quiroprático Lisboa must verify his identity by other means than oral..
Replies to requests should, as a general rule, be given within a maximum of 30 days, except in the case of a particularly complex request or a multiplicity of requests.
In addition to the rights mentioned above, Chiropractor Lisbon informs that it also has the right to claim, that is, the right to file a claim with the supervisory authority, CNPD (www.cnpd.pt)if it considers that the Lisbon Chiropractor has failed to comply with the requirements of the GDPR or applicable national law regarding its personal data.
In addition, he has the right to seek judicial redress, without prejudice to any other administrative or extrajudicial remedy against the Chiropractic Area of Lisbon or its subcontractor, if he considers that his rights have been violated.
